The Campus Minister for Protestant and Ecumenical Ministry provides support to all Creighton students, while their primary function will be to coordinate worship opportunities and other offering directed at students from varied Protestant denominations. Additionally, they will oversee and coordinate 2â??3 retreats each year. The individual must be a self-starter who possess a strong foundation in theology. Their responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Ecumenical Worship
â?¢ Collaborate with local ordained ministers to coordinate presiders for the weekly â??Common Wellâ? liturgy that takes place on campus.
â?¢ Develop and maintain necessary operational documentation, including contracts and partnership agreements.
â?¢ Evaluate how on-campus worship can better align with the diverse worship practices of the campus community.
â?¢ Create opportunities for students and Creighton community members to preach at â??Common Wellâ? services.
Ecumenical Programming
â?¢ Through building relationships and collection and use of data, assess the needs of students and discern appropriate programming to meet those needs while forming students in our Jesuit mission.
â?¢ Identify and form student leaders, focusing on spiritual leadership development.
â?¢ Support students in leading bible studies.
â?¢ Partner with campus ministers to promote participation in campus ministry programming and formation in our Jesuit identity.
â?¢ Partner with student organizations, particularly those that are faith- and cultural-based, identifying needs for spiritual and faith support.
â?¢ Develop and maintain an awareness of local Protestant and Evangelical churches for the purpose of referring students, establishing relationships where needed.
� Collaborate with Coordinator of Music Ministry on quarterly Taizé prayer service.
Retreats
â?¢ Collaborate with Retreats Professional Staff to develop retreat content (liturgy, student talks, etc.)
â?¢ Selecting, forming, and supporting student coordinators and student leader teams
â?¢ Planning and organizing logistics of a retreat: registration, advertising, transportation, lodging, meals, and budget
Pastoral Ministry
â?¢ Engaging in outreach to Protestant and non-affiliated students
â?¢ Foster relationships with students.
â?¢ Support students in crisis and connect them with the appropriate offices on campus.
Other duties as assigned
â?¢ Serve as a member of Campus Ministry during key events.
â?¢ Be present at staff and division meetings and gatherings.
â?¢ Maintain program budget and other related administrative tasks.
